Sites in Ninh Binh to appear in Kong: Skull Island movie
VietNamNet Bridge – Trang An, Tam Coc – Bich Dong and Van Long
are three famous tourist destinations in Ninh Binh which will appear in
the blockbuster Kong: Skull Island, to debut in 2017.
On February 26, the Kong: Skull Island crew arrived in Ninh Binh to
start two working weeks at this location, from February 27 through March
15. The first location is Trang An, 7 km to the west of Ninh Binh City
and 96 km away from Hanoi to the south. The selected site is a 2 hectare
valley inside the Trang An tourist site.
To go to the Nang Valley (in the photo), people have to travel by
boat for about 3 km. From the Thach Bich wharf, in the vast space of the
valley, visitors will feel like being immersed in nature and will enjoy
the fresh and quiet atmosphere.
Trang An is a complex of cultural, historical and natural heritage
sites, recognized by UNESCO as the world’s first mixed heritage of
Vietnam in 2014.
Many sites here are recognized by the Vietnamese government as
national relics of the special level, such as the Trang An eco-tourism
zone, the Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist site and the ancient capital of
Hoa Lu.
Tam Coc – Bich Dong, also known as the “Ha Long Bay on land” or the
“second best cave in Vietnam”, is a key tourist destination of the
country. The entire region consists of the system of limestone caves and
historic sites related to the Vu Lam Palace of the Tran Dynasty in Ninh
Hai Commune, Hoa Lu.
The weathered and eroded limestone create many unique shapes.
From February 27 to March 7, the Kong: Skull Island crew will work at Trang An. They will work at Tam Coc – Bich Dong on March 8.

From March 9 to 15, the crew will film in the Van Long Lagoon. This
is not only a tourist site but also the largest wetland nature reserve
in the northern region.
Van Long is beautiful and charming. The lagoon water is blue and
crystal. It is also the home to majestic limestone mountains and caves.
